Walking closely with individuals in discernment

As Associate Director of the Office of Vocations, Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Sister Anita Brenek, CDP, assists in vocation promotion and support of the seminarians of the Archdiocese. She works with the office team and collaborates with the vocation directors of religious congregations in the Archdiocese in planning and implementing various retreats, workshops, and other events. They focus especially on men and women discerning priesthood and religious life, but also interact with many other groups to continue raising vocation awareness. Sister Anita is directly responsible for the women’s events and assists in the men’s events. She also supports the Director in assessing candidates for the seminary and following their progress toward ordination.

She enjoys her ministry because she has a wonderful team with whom she works in the Office of Vocations and their work in the Archdiocese is with a wide range of people. She values the extensive program planning as well as the more intense walking closely with individuals in discernment. She experiences great hope in the youth and young adults of the Church who express their desire to grow in their spirituality and live a faith-filled life.
