A TON of a DRUM
Dear friends,
Construction on the expansion of the McCullough Hall Nursing Center continues now that the ground has dried a bit. Last week the sump tank was delivered, a giant 14 foot deep hole in the Catio was dug, and the tank placed in that hole piece by piece. Some of the larger pieces of the tank section weighed 8,000 pounds and were lifted in place by a crane!
The fence protecting the cats and the Catio from construction was pushed further west to accommodate the grading and drainage project in the Catio. Also, a pine tree will be moved to a more center location to accommodate and improve drainage. Stoddard Construction is working hard to preserve and improve the convent environment.
In the coming week the forms will be laid for foundation work, the sump pump to improve drainage will be installed, and the fence moved east again in the Catio.
Enjoy the photos attached.
