Handwritten Hope: Sisters Write Postcards to Inspire Voter Turnout in Swing States
The Sisters at Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center have once again demonstrated their commitment to justice and civic engagement by actively participating in a postcard campaign. Today, they mailed nearly 200 hand written postcards, encouraging potential swing state voters to take part in the upcoming elections.
The campaign, which has garnered national attention with over 265,000 volunteers, aims to increase voter turnout in key battleground states. The goal is to contribute to a historic effort, with an estimated 180,000 votes projected to be added by these postcards—four times the margin that decided the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
The Sisters’ involvement in this initiative highlights their continued dedication to values of social justice, civic responsibility, and the promotion of the common good. Through these handwritten notes, the Sisters hope to inspire others to engage in the democratic process and make their voices heard.
