Among the Sisters of Divine Providence of San Antonio and those who love them, Moye Retreat Center is a sacred space, a spiritual ground.
Moye Retreat Center is the original Motherhouse of the Sisters of Divine Providence in Castroville, Texas and is currently a place for hosting retreats, renewal programs and other activities promoting personal and spiritual growth. It has been an integral part of life in Castroville and the surrounding communities for more than 140 years.
Among the Sisters of Divine Providence of San Antonio and those who love them, Moye Retreat Center is a sacred space, a spiritual ground. It was on these grounds that many young women responded to God’s call to abandonment to Divine Providence. Today, it is a place where that call reaches men and women, lay, religious and ordained – those who come to these sacred grounds in a spirit of prayer, seeking to renew and celebrate the power and presence of God in their lives.
People of all faiths are welcomed to Moye Retreat Center, which serves as an oasis of solitude and serenity for those who seek balance and nourishment of their relationship with God.
The grounds of Moye Retreat Center are home to the first schoolhouse in Castroville which was newly renovated in 2019 after sustaining damage from a lightning incident in August 2017.
Upcoming projects include the designing and building of a pathway connecting the newly installed outdoor Stations of the Cross.
