OVER 40 Cans for Lent
The Sisters of Divine Providence who work and reside at Our Lady of the Lake Convent went to task when they received an invitation from Archbishop Gustavo. He invited all to participate in the 40 CANS FOR LENT FOOD DRIVE. Soon after, calls were made, signs were posted and one to one communication started with friends, family and neighbors. The campaign started on March 1st and three weeks later, Sister Madeleine Zimmerer, CDP delivered the first load of cans and unperishable food products which amounted to 229 pounds! This delivery was made to Catholic Charities on Guadalupe Street. The Sisters proudly share, “We have two more weeks of collection left.” Charity abounds with the Sisters of Divine Providence who consistently answer the call of those in need near and around them.
